Sr. Mechanical Engineer

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at MechDes, you are responsible for independently designing and calculating complex products and larger projects within the Special Equipment department. You perform detailed calculations and determine the right materials to tackle technical challenges. You use FEM (Finite Element Method) to verify structural strength and work with colleagues to create the 3D designs. The balance between calculation work and design work differs per project, which keeps your work varied.

You also lead smaller project teams, monitoring progress and coaching (Junior) Mechanical Engineers. You play an important role in developing advanced and sustainable solutions, including for the energy transition. As your experience and leadership skills grow, you will have the opportunity to progress to Lead Engineer, taking on more responsibility for project coordination and team management. Within MechDes Special Equipment you mainly work with customer-specific software packages such as Inventor, Ansys Workbench and SolidWorks.

You will be part of a larger team led by a (Senior) Lead Engineer, or you may independently guide a smaller team and carry technical end responsibility.
